Bathroom Exhaust Fan Performance Graph

In our bathroom exhaust fan example we calculated a CFM of 56 and an EDL of 50. Graph 1 is an example of a typical exhaust fan specification graph.

To use the graph:

Locate the spot on the fan's performance curve on the graph that corresponds to the required EDL, in our case 50.

Draw a vertical line downwards from that point on the graph (shown as a red dashed line) to determine the CFM capability with the required EDL of 50.

In this case, the fan would be acceptable, as the performance graph indicates that it would deliver approximately 83 CFM with an EDL of 50.
