Dirk De Vuyst, born in Belgium, moved to the United States in 1983. In 1995, Dirk and his wife Rita purchased International Marble Industries (IMI) in Woodstock, Georgia. IMI is a state of the art manufacturer of MasterCast Performance Engineered Composites. International Marble Industries Unveils Unique Line of Luxury Tubs to International Buyers
International Marble Industries, Inc. (IMI) of Woodstock has unveiled a new line of stand-alone bathtubs to their national and international buyers. This new tub is unmatched in the industry. Prior to the product launch industry buyers only had three choices of color in large (60 Gallon Plus) stand-alone tubs: White, Biscuit or Almond.
Now buyers and dealers for hotels and spas, builders and remodelers can choose from five different styles (The Oceanus, Isis, Imperia, Adoni and Petit Bath) and endless finish choices. All of the tubs are manufactured in Woodstock, Georgia by IMI’s progressive artisans who complete all finishes per the client’s selections and by hand. Finishes include custom glass tile inlay, linen pattern distressed exterior finish, metallic, stone flake, blended aluminum, blended pearl black and countless other finish options. The tubs also have new technology options such as the "Inspiration Air" injection massage therapy system, an "O3" ozone clarifying system, chromatherapy lighting system and even an aromatherapy system.
The most astounding part of the new line is that a tub can be completed per the buyer’s specifications in seven working days. This was a fact that delighted buyers that came to Woodstock to preview the line; they came from Florida, London and even South Africa. Joel Bump, Marketing Director for IMI, spoke of the buyers’ reaction to the unique line: “By far, the most beautiful tubs they have ever seen. I heard that comment over and over today.” The linen finish tub was a particular favorite amongst the European buyers who can’t wait to bring the tub to boutique hotels and spas throughout France.
Perhaps the best news is the launch of this new line, and the export of locally-made MasterCast engineered composite products to international markets will bring great job gains and industry advances to Cherokee County, the town of Woodstock and IMI. "IMI is changing to a global outlook,” said IMI’s CEO Dirk De Vuyst. “We will always sell our unique products to local builders and remodelers but now we have also found international success; particularly with this venture. We are cross-training all new and existing employees to handle national and international buyers."
After the Paris IDEO BAIN bath show in early 2010 the tub gallery will be on permanent display at IMI in Woodstock, Georgia.
