Kirei Board – The Pioneering Product from Kirei
Kirei Board is made from post-harvest sorghum plant stalks. Kirei Board is strong, lightweight, durable, environmentally friendly — usable in furniture, cabinetry, casework, and interior design elements. Kirei is currently working on new sizes, thicknesses, and styles and has completed stunning new installations with Whole Foods, Starbucks, Microsoft and many more.
Kirei Board reduces forest clear-cutting, air pollution and landfill use. The sorghum stalks used in the manufacture of Kirei Board are a rapidly renewable resource left after the edible portion of the plant is harvested. Until now, these stalks have been discarded or burned, adding to landfill waste and pollution. Kirei Board helps reduce this waste and ease deforestation by substituting for wood. In addition, Kirei Board is made with a no-added-urea-formaldehyde adhesive that does not emit toxic formaldehyde.
For designers, architects and builders Kirei Board there is the added benefit – use of Kirei Board is an excellent way to help projects qualify for LEED credit for environmentally friendly construction.

Kirei Bamboo
The Kirei Bamboo line of bamboo panels was recently launched into the marketplace with great acceptance and has already been used in several high-profile projects. Bamboo is a rapidly renewable, sustainable resource, and we use low-or no-added formaldehyde for the production of our panels. In addition to the Zebra Bamboo, Kirei will debut Chocolate and Tiger bamboo styles. And as always, all of our Kirei Bamboo products are Panda-Safe!
Kirei WheatBoard
Kirei WheatBoard is a cleaner and greener substitute for MDF or particle board. It's made with crushed wheat straw (left after harvest) and a No-Added-Urea-Formaldehyde adhesive. With working characteristics meeting and often surpassing those of commercially available MDF, plus renewable source materials and non-toxic adhesives, Kirei Wheatboard gives you a clean slate to build what your mind designs. For all of those who thought WheatBoard had disappeared from the market, think again. It's back, and Kirei has it.
Kirei Coco Tiles
Made from Coconuts! Kirei Coco Tiles – also know as The Sumatra Collection, are a new family of decorative tiles and panels manufactured from the reclaimed coconut shells left over after harvest. With over 20 patterns and more to come, Kirei Coco Tiles are available in light, dark and mixed textures to create a variety of surfaces for new decorative ideas in residential, commercial, and hospitality applications.
Kirei Debuts Its New Chocolate Bamboo
Kirei is proud to introduce Chocolate Bamboo—a new color option in the Kirei line of bamboo panel materials. Chocolate Bamboo adds a traditional shade to the modern palette of Kirei bamboo panels in Natural, Carbonized, and Zebra. This new color option has a deep, dramatic, and sophisticated appearance.
The Chocolate Bamboo color is achieved through a proprietary, dark carbonizing process. The result is a rich, dark color that withstands sanding and is uniform throughout the wear layer (as opposed to just being a surface stain.)
Kirei Bamboo is an eco-friendly decorative panel product that is ideal for modern interior design projects. This paneling is strong and dense which allows for the large number of design applications such as wall covering, cabinetry, interior millwork, and furniture.
Kirei Bamboo is made using the rapidly renewable trunks of the Moso bamboo grass. Bamboo’s fast growth ensures a constant supply of material and reduces pressure on forest clear-cutting and habitat destruction -- making it Panda-safe! Kirei uses low- or no-added urea formaldehyde adhesive for the production of the panels. These design elements make Kirei Bamboo a product that can help projects gain LEED™ credit for environmentally friendly construction.
