Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S), a leading provider of electrical wiring devices and home systems, announces its new line of Floor Boxes. These affordable, high-value solutions provide convenient access, rugged construction and support for both line-voltage and low-voltage connections.
P&S offers a broad selection of multimedia jacks, making any connection easy to configure and install. The Floor Boxes come in a variety of round and rectangular styles, including single- or two-gang applications. The most significant of these are single-gang dual-voltage models, only offered by P&S.
The Boxes install in wood and concrete with a smooth, nearly flush appearance. Swing-bracket mounting, ideal for tile floors, installs without drilling for mounting screws. The extra-deep design leaves plenty of wiring room, and four knock-out wire entries and two auto-clamp entries allow for wiring flexibility. The heavy-gauge, die-cast cover plate is compatible with a wide range of floor surfaces, including ceramic tile.

"P&S Floor Boxes make it easier than ever to install the connections you need, wherever you need them," said Tom Roy, product manager at P&S. "The dual-voltage products are great for phones or laptops and can take the place of two traditional floor boxes."
Each Floor Box is scrub water compliant without caulking, supplied with a foam gasket and O-ring-equipped plugs. The foam gasket also seals out dust and dirt. The Boxes include receptacles, multimedia dividers, Cat 5e jacks and F-connectors.
Available in more than 50 styles, single receptacle, dual-voltage, duplex receptacle, quad-jack and 2-jack versions are offered. All FB Series models meet the 2007 UL514C revisions and NEC314.27c requirements, including scrub water requirements for tile floors. A built-in ground terminal makes ground bonding easy when required by code.
