Sealing Screws In Shower
Question: I am putting some grab bars in my shower and I am concerned that water will get behind the drywall where I am drilling the holes for the screw anchors. What is the best way to seal the anchors and screws?
Answer: Place a small amount of silicone caulk on the anchor before you put the anchor into the hole in the wall. Then put a small amount of silicone on the tip of the screw before you start to screw it into the anchor.
You should also put silicone around the flange of the grab bar.
