Cracking
Problem: Other types of drywall cracking.
Cause: Inadequate corner support.

Solutions:
- Movement of drywall can cause cracking at exterior corners or where interior partitions intersect at exterior walls. Metal corner-beading can provide additional support. Nails and screws should be spaced no more than 8 inches (200 mm) at corners. Provide adequate nailing surfaces, as shown in Table 1 - Figures 63a, 63b, 63c and 63d, or use drywall clips as shown in Figure 63e.

- With metal studs, run drywall from the interior of the corners through to the outside face and provide corner reinforcement as shown in Table 2 - Figures 64a and 64b.
