Drill Bit Sizes

Drill bits can be purchased in a variety of sizes; fractions of an inch, millimeters (mm), gauge (numbers & letters. Table 1 provides a conversion of the different sizes of drill bits from fractions of an inch to millimeters (mm) and gauge numbers and letters.

The drill bit sizes shown are those that are readily available to purchase. Other sizes, especially in millimeter sizes, may be available on special order. It should be noted that all drill bit styles may not be available in every size.
